Flesh Gordon Was the 1970's at it's Very Best

(Don't worry, this is the "family friendly" version)

I can’t find the words to describe just how much I love, the soft-core, science fiction extravaganza.
Flesh Gordon, but I’m going to waste a few trying.

Earth's First Space Ship
These days when porn is commonplace and even the cheapest movie has at least something sort of looking like special effects, Flesh is a film that a lot of people just don’t get, hell, can’t get. But in 1974 it was just about the coolest movie ever made.Great, cheesy special effects by a young Rick Baker, John Dykstra and crew.
With a silly plot that still manages closely follows the original story, Flesh manages to break off into its own smutty recreations flawlessly.

Suzanne Fields, Jason Williams
& Joe Hudgins

And what amounts to some very funny dialogue.Acting wise, occasional porn actors Jason Williams and Suzanne Fields would never win an award, but they both dive right in and have a good time at playing it completely straight while spending most of their time on screen completely naked.

The best performances though are a guy named William Hunt, as the Emperor Wang, who hates the universe because a Penis Fly Trap had eaten his member...

....stag movie actress Candy Samples as the queen of the Amazons....

....and best of all, in a truly scenery eating performance, Joe Hudgins as scientist Flexi Jerkoff.

And there are some truly funny set pieces, from the attack of the One Eyed Penisaurs,

...to the Power Pasties,

....Prince Precious and even some bits that don’t start with a “P”.

Plus the voice of Craig T. Nelson as the Monster of Doom.

Trust me, yes it’s sort of dirty, but it isn’t hardcore, though it comes close, don’t get me wrong. And yes it’s sort of dumb, and it was shot for about $1.98 too, but it really is worth seeing.
