London Last Night: Lovat At Movida

The Event: Lovat at Movida nightclub

The Venue: Movida, Oxford Circus, London

The VIPs: Rob Ackroyd of Florence and the Machine (above) and Pixie Geldof

Food/Drinks: The Party Squad were settled in the VIP quarter of the nightspot where the vodka mixers were continually dispensed. Wonderful!

The Gossip:
1) A craze of the machine-moves became apparent as lead guitarist and now practiced DJ Rob Ackroyd from Florence and the Machine made his debut on the decks last night at Movida nightclub.

2) The man of the music was meek in receiving compliments for his set sharing “I am so excited about my debut gig. At the moment I have been spending lots of time in the studio with the band on the new album so it’s nice to be able to get back to performing to a crowd in a completely different circumstance… I just can’t wait to get my hands on those decks and create a great atmosphere.”

3) Ackroyd also let slip that Florence Welch (above) couldn’t make his first time spinning the songs as she was still at Abbey Road Studios from 8am recording for their next album. We understand!

4) Meanwhile Florence, 24, covers Nylon's June issue where she reveals her infant dreams of being "a witch when I was a kid. I was obsessed with witchcraft. At school, me and my friends had these spell books: I always wanted a more magical reality. I had a shrine at home and I did a spell to try and make the boy in the other class fall in love with me."
