Tangled Web: Ryan Chong Yiing Yih (of Daphne Iking enticement case) and Serena

So Ryan Chong Yiing Yih is no angel, either, huh? The ex-husband of Daphne Iking--the star in a stoopid enticement case of Malaysia--admitted he had an affair with a guest relations officer of one karaoke club in Shanghai, 'Serena' during their marriage.

Well, to quote from Bible, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone”. So who are we to judge these screw-up couples, after all?!

Or would you prefer this quote from Robert Frost, “Let him that is without stone among you cast the first thing he can lay his hands on.”

Heh. Evil.

Chong confesses he ‘met someone’ while working in China

KUALA LUMPUR: Daphne Iking’s ex-husband, Ryan Chong Yiing Yih, also had an affair during their marriage, the magistrate’s court heard.

Businessman Chong, 32, who had taken corporate figure Darren Choy Khin Ming, 45, to court in a private summons for “enticing his wife,” confessed yesterday that he had “met someone” while working in China.

He admitted when cross-examined by Choy’s counsel Datuk Jagjit Singh that he had met a guest relations officer - “Serena” - in a karaoke club in Shanghai in June 2007.

However, he said he had confessed to a pregnant Iking a month later, seeking her forgiveness because he felt he had done wrong, and claimed that she had forgiven him.

Jagjit then put it to him that he was lying, saying that he had confessed because Serena had contacted Iking via her (Iking’s) blog before she could confront him about it.

Chong disagreed, saying that Iking was unaware of the matter before he told her, and denied that he had promised Serena to marry her.

He also denied paying Serena 2mil renminbi (about RM941,000) as compensation to buy her silence and that he had been driven by greed for demanding RM5mil from Choy – later reduced to RM2.5mil – and RM1mil from Iking for settlement before the matter was brought to court.

Jagjit: But you demanded RM1mil from her.

Chong: That’s not greed. That’s compensation for not telling me and my family that she was pregnant with some other person’s kid. Even after the baby was born, she continued to portray the kid as mine.

Chong also admitted to giving Iking and her child four days to leave their home, adding that he told her to “move out.”

Jagjit: You agree that the baby, who was 11 months old, was innocent and that she should not suffer?

Chong: Agree.

Choy has been charged under Section 498 of the Penal Code with enticing Iking, knowing that she was a married woman, with the intention of having sexual intercourse.

He allegedly committed the offence at a condominium unit in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here between July 2007 and September last year.

The hearing before magistrate Engku Ahmad Rashdi Engku Abdillah continues on March 4.

From The Star Online, "Iking’s ex-hubby had affair, too".

The former husband of model and TV presenter Daphne Eleanor Iking admitted having relations with a Guest Relations Officer (GRO) from China while Iking was conceiving.

Ryan Chong Yiing Yih, 32, said the relationship lasted for only one month and he had made a confession to Iking personally in July 2007 when she was conceiving.

Giving his testimony at the Magistrate's Court here, he said he made the confession as he felt what he had done was wrong. He said he had met the woman, Serena, at a karaoke club.

Chong, a businessman, and Iking were married on Jan 27, 2007 in Bali, in Indonesia and the couple has a daughter before their divorce in 2009.

Chong is the first witness in his private suit against former Adidas managing director Darren Choy Khin Ming, 45, who is charged with enticing Iking, 31, with the intention of having intercourse with her at a condominium, The Plaza, Jalan Wan Kadir, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, between July 2007 and September 2008.

Choy is being charged under Section 498 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum jail term of two years, or a fine or both, upon conviction.

Questioned by counsel Datuk Jagjit Singh (representing Choy) during cross-examination, Chong said that his ex-wife communicated with Serena through a blog site.

However, Chong denied having paid Renminbi (RMB) 2 million (Chinese currency) to Serena so as not to expose the matter (affair) and disagreed with Jagjit's contention that his trip to Shanghai in July 2007 was to settle the matter.

"I went there to submit my resignation letter to a real estate company there and wanted to save my marriage," he said.

Meanwhile, when asked by Jagjit about the letter demanding RM5 million from Choy, Chong said it was the earliest letter dated Oct. 17, 2008 but after negotiations between their lawyers, the sum was reduced to RM2.5 million.

He said the demand was made so that the case (enticing someone else's wife) would not be taken to court and that he had also demanded RM1 million from Iking for conceiving a child that was not his while they were still married.

The case before Magistrate Engku Ahmad Rashdi Engku Abdillah continues on March 4, next year.

Daphne Iking’s ex-husband Ryan Chong Yiing Yih also had an affair while they were still married, the Magistrate's court heard Monday.

Businessman Chong, 32, who has taken corporate figure Darren Choy Khin Ming, 45, to court in a private summons for "enticing his wife", confessed that he had "met someone" while working in China.

When cross-examined by Choy's counsel Datuk Jagjit Singh, he admitted he had met a guest-relations officer (GRO) named Serena in a karaoke club in Shanghai, in June 2007.

However, he said he confessed the matter to a pregnant Iking a month later, in July, seeking her forgiveness because he felt he had done wrong, and said she had forgiven him.

Jagjit then put it to him that he was lying, saying that he had confessed to Iking because Serena had contacted Iking via her (Iking's) blog, which was the reason he had made the confession to Iking before she could confront him about it.

Chong disagreed, saying Iking was not aware of the matter before he told her about it.

He also denied paying Serena RMB2mil (about RM941,000) to buy her silence.

Jagjit then accused Chong of being driven by greed, for demanding RM5mil from Choy, which was later reduced to RM2.5mil, and RM1mil from Iking, for the settlement of the matter before it was brought to court, which Chong denied.

Jagjit: But you demanded RM1mil from her.

Chong: That's not greed. That's compensation for not telling me and my family she was pregnant with some other person's kid. Even after the baby was born, she continued to portray the kid as mine.

He also admitted to giving Iking and her child four days to leave their home.

He allegedly committed the offence at a condominium unit in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here between July 2007 and September last year.

If found guilty, Choy can be jailed up to two years, fined or both.

Representing Chong is lawyer Chris Lim and Wong Kian Kheong, while lawyers Jagjit and Akbardin Abdul Kader stood as counsel for Choy.

The hearing before magistrate Engku Ahmad Rashdi Engku Abdillah continues on March 4, next year.
